Dear readers,

When we created www.AislingEyeBooks.com, we signed up with Google Adsense with the sole intention of providing some (very minor) revenue through web advertising. In setting up our account, we limited our criteria for ad content to the literary world of publishing, reading, and book selling.

Or so we thought.

Last night, we were all stunned and appalled to find, on our own website, multiple ads supportive of California's PROPOSITION 8. We don't know how such ads found their way to our site, and we're suspending our Google Adsense account until further notice.

All of us at Aisling Eye Books wholeheartedly oppose Proposition 8. We feel it is discriminatory, hateful, and deserves no place in Californian law...or anywhere else, for that matter.

ALMOST THERE!

We're almost done reviewing all the short stories submitted to us for our first THROUGH AN AISLING EYE collection. This took us a considerable amount of time (sorry!), as we felt it was only fair to read each and every one before making any decisions.

We will be sending out our responses via USPS mail by the end of November. Unfortunately, our original submission forms didn't provide a space for writers to include their email addresses (a big, stupid oversight on our part), so if you would like to receive an email reply instead, let us know.

DEADLINE'S PASSED! We wish to thank everyone who sent us their short stories for our first THROUGH AN AISLING EYE collection, an anthology of offbeat, humorous, and satirical works. At least we hope they will be.

We're now in the process of reviewing submissions, and promise to respond to each and every one. The selections should be decided by November. Feel free to email us with any questions in the meantime.

Here is a tentative mockup of the cover. You movie fans should know what the center photo is a spin of. (Surprisingly, this famous film is now in the public domain... so we won't have to worry about getting sued!)

We will be planning a second volume in the months ahead -- an anthology of horror and suspense stories -- so check back with us once in a while for updates!

Due to some scheduling conflicts, t
he release of THE BROTHERHOOD AND THE SHIELD: THE THREE THORNS has now been pushed. Author Mike Gibney has been dealing with some business in his native Northern Ireland that, unfortunately, has delayed his return to the United States.

The book itself is coming along beautifully, but Mike wants to personally supervise the layout and the printing process. We fully respect his wishes, and are happy to honor them.

We are in the process of scheduling book signings, and will post up to date information on our EVENTS page.

4/1/08: Alan Michael Gibney discusses his debut novel, THE BROTHERHOOD AND THE SHIELD: THE THREE THORNS.

9/23/07: AISLING EYE BOOKS, a new indie publishing company, announces its releases for 2008.
